A PRODUCTIVE COUCH POTATO.........

.......... although this does sound kind of oxymoronic, this is what I am striving to become.

The Austrailian Open tennis grand slam is currently under way "Down Under" and I have found myself, for the most part, planted on my couch from 5:30ish when I get home until 12:00 pm when the live coverage on ESPN2 ends (only to begin again at 1:30 am). I usually make myself turn off the TV and go to bed at midnight.
In order to feel productive while wasting so much time in front of the television, I have once again dug out the knitting needles for a good cause.
Years ago some stake that I was in had a Stake Enrichment Super Saturday or something where I first learned about knitting or crocheting leprosy bandages for the Humanitarian Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I began thinking that this would be a good a way to still feel productive while watching television. Apparently the Church no longer needs these, but in searching for the pattern/specifications, I ran across the blog of a lady that collects them to send to a leper colony in vietnam http://leprosybandages.blogspot.com/

**I am also crocheting a baby blanket for a friend that is having a baby and knitting a scarf for my niece Jesika. Maybe I will post pictures when they are done. They are cuter than the leprosy bandages. (FYI: This picture is not of my bandages).

MY RENAISSANCE

I am happy to report that I have finally left the dark ages of dial-up internet (I KNOW, who still uses dial-up??).
As of last night I now have high-speed wireless. How fabulous it that!

It is not really a surprise that is has taken me this long. I think that in general I am a couple years behind on most things. Whether it be fashion trends, marriage, technology, etc. I am probably at least a couple years behind the rest of the population.

**FYI: The main reason for keeping my land line was for my dial-up internet, but I iwll be cancelling my home phone service and will only have my cell phone.

WRITER'S CRAMP...OR PURE LAZINESS??

I know that my blog needs an update......okay, I get that.
I am working on it, but I struggle to come up with material that is more or less based solely around my super-exciting life.

Well, I spend most of my weekends home watching movies and crocheting. Sometimes I'll even switch it up a bit and do some knitting instead. Wild, I know!!
Also, I get to go to a Stake Primary Presidency meeting tonight. Please try not to be jealous. Ü

I do have a couple of things I want to post about and will try to get something new here in the next week or so.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous 2009 so far.
